Contrary to popular belief, coffee has a few enemies other than just Mondays. These include moisture, light, heat and air. In order to keep your Arbuckle's Gourmet Coffee fresh and ready to brew, you should store it in certain conditions. It is best kept in a convenient yet dark and cool place. One of the worst things that one can do with their coffee is to store it in a freezer or refrigerator. This is because they will both allow moisture to soak into the coffee beans and can cause deterioration. The best place for your coffee is in an air tight glass or ceramic canister that is kept put of the sunlight.
If you prefer to buy your coffee in bulk and cannot consume it all within a decent amount of time, it can be frozen but we do not suggest this. If you must, separate your bulk coffee into weekly size portions and store in air tight freezer bags. However, you should try to stay away from this as the coffee beans will begin to lose flavor. Most importantly though, you must NEVER re-freeze coffee as the moisture will lock into the beans and can even cause your coffee to take in the other flavors of your freezer.
Happy Brewing!
